As more people get vaccinated, and the number of COVID-19 cases decline, people are beginning to feel more comfortable traveling again (as we can see by the crazy high gas prices!). We decided to survey the TapOnIt team to find out their favorite vacation spots in hopes it will inspire you for when you decide to use those stacked-up vacation hours!
Cape May, New Jersey – Natalee
Where to stay: We had a great experience at Wilbraham Mansion. I suggest staying at a Bed and Breakfast to get the real Cape May experience.
Things to do: A lot of the B&B’s and hotels provide free beach cruisers with your rental so make sure you grab one of those. During the day you can ride around the town and down by the beach to soak up the scenery, lay on the sand, and check out the local shops. At night visit the Wildwoods Boardwalk and do the Lighthouse Full Moon Climb!
Where to eat: You HAVE to get the lobster roll from Quincey’s on Cape May Beach, and The Lobster House is perfect for a nice dinner.

Aruba – Keely
Things to do: If you’re seeking some adventure you should try off-road ATVs with DePalm tours! We had a blast. If you’re just looking to relax, nothing beats lying in a chair by the pool looking at the ocean with a few cold drinks. Rinse and repeat every day Sunglasses emoji
Where to eat: You have to check out Wacky Wahoo for lunch, dinner, or drinks!

Sandusky, Ohio – Katie & Sara
Things to do: If you are into roller coasters, Sandusky has the best amusement park EVER, Cedar Point!
Where to stay: When we went every summer we’d stay with our grandparents, but unless you happen to have family who lives there, Hotel Breakers is a great spot to stay and is within walking distance to the park entrance.
What to eat: Fries, fries, and more fries. Cedar Point has the best french fries at their concession stands! And don’t forget the malt vinegar!

Chicago, Illinois – Shelley
Where to stay: I’m a big Airbnb fan. I like to stay near the river but honestly anywhere I can get a good deal!
Things to do: Chicago in the summer is the best! Street festivals, kayaking the river, architecture boat tours, and of course a CUBS GAME!
Where to eat: The Riverwalk has the best little bars & restaurants and tons of rooftops and patios all over the city. I love Old Crow in Wrigleyville!

Ludington, Michigan – Tessa
Where to stay: Nader’s Motel
Things to do: They have a huge lighthouse by the beach and the cutest downtown area.
Where to eat: Make sure you walk to the downtown ice cream shop called House of Flavors! I mean, look at all these flavors.

Door County, Wisconsin – Emily
Where to stay: We always stay in Fish Creek at a small cottage right on Lake Michigan. There are tons of cute bed and breakfasts nearby, or they have a great campground if that’s more your style!
What to do: During the day head to Peninsula State Park for some beautiful trails and views of the lake, find a public beach, and walk to tons of shops. At night hop on a trolley tour, they have so many different routes and themes that can be family-friendly, or fun for just adults! The haunted trolley pub crawl was a blast.
Where to eat: JJ’s LaPuerta for delicious Mexican food, or head there on a Tuesday for some crab legs! Bayside Tavern has great bar food, but a must-try is their Smiling Bob’s Chili (with the works of course!), finish the night with frozen custard at Not Licked Yet.
